ZAHA HADID – KING ABDULLAH PETROLEUM STUDIES AND RESEARCH CENTER (KAPSARC)

KAPSARC is an independent, non-profit research institution dedicated to researching energy economics, policy, technology, and the environment across all types of energy. KAPSARC’s mandate is to advance the understanding of energy challenges and opportunities facing the world today and tomorrow, through unbiased, independent, and high-caliber research for the benefit of society. This exceptional building, located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was designed by the world-famous British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. The construction of the cellular structure of crystalline forms started in 2009 and the BASWAphon installation was finished in October 2015. 19’000 square meters of BASWAphon Fine have been installed, on ceilings and walls – providing this prestigious building with huge volumes an amazing acoustical quality. The BASWAphon installation has been done under the responsibility of GRESAM, a Lebanese-Saudi Arabian company. The result is really impressive – not only on the acoustical perspective but also the visual one.
